Poombarai  பூம்பாறை ஸ்ரீ குழந்தை வேலப்பர் கோவில் திருவிழா    Poombarai is a village located in the heart of the Palani hills, 18 kilometers from Kodaikanal at: 10°15′16″N 77°24′24″E / 10.25444°N 77.40667°E. Altitude is 1,920 meters The Kuzhanthai Velappar Temple (Kulandai Velayudha Swami Tirukkovil)  has three thousand years of history and was consecrated by his holiness  Bhogar . The idol is made of  Navabashanam . This temple comes under  Pazhani  Devasthanam .  Every year Poombarai celebrates  Ther Thiruvizha  (car festival) for  Lord Murga . It falls on  Kettai nakshatra  which comes after  Thaip Poosam . Normally in  Thai  or  Maasi  month.                          Agriculture is main for poombarai people There are cultivating Potato,carat , garlic and other English vegetables.
